free and paid directories for submitting your site and articles to

Yahoo Directory
- You can submit for free if your site is
non-commercial. Business sites must pay a $299 per year fee.
DMOZ - The
Open Directory Project directory used to be a great resource and
was used for several years by Google as its directory. Now
it seems to have less influence and lower page rank on the
directory pages. If you can get your site listed here, it's
still worth it though...it often takes forever unless you become
an editor.
