Blogger.com - The biggest and
best known blogging site online has some advantages.
First, it's owned by Google, so the
"buzz" blog gives you the
latest info with tips and tricks for maintaining your
blogger.com blog. Plus, you get very good
help for
creating and promoting your blog.
Putting up a blog with this program is
fairly easy but may not be the best choice if blogging income is
your main interest. It's better to get your own domain
name and a hosting service
because transferring a blog is extremely
difficult (you tend to lose your links, due to the name change
that would be required if you move the blog).

Reciprocal Linking
The following two sites help you get links to your blog
from other blogs. The way it works, is, every time you link
to another blog, that blogger sees your link in their referral
logs. If the blogger likes your site, you will then often
get a reciprocal link. This is a much easier way to do
linking than with regular web sites.
-
Blog Roll - This site has
software that helps you add links to other blogs from your site
to get reciprocal links back (they will only do this if you have
really good content on your site though).
